Dr. Nisha Dogra, Ph.D., M.HS. - President and Chief Executive Officer (Genetics)

Dr. Nisha Dogra is the President and principal founder of Advanced Genomics Corporation. She brings over twenty years of experience in the areas of science and business and contributes leadership, vision and strategic planning to Advanced Genomics. She has been in the Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia (consistently ranks among the top ten North American Universities for its commercialization activities), Vancouver, Canada since 2001 and in the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (leading tertiary/ quaternary research institute and a joint venture with UBC), Vancouver, Canada since 2002. She played concurrent roles for leading groundbreaking cutting edge Genomics research projects of Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). She has been responsible for strategy and implementation of all operations using microarray technology beginning with the start up to profitable projects. Dr. Dogra started her research career in 1989 in the Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, India (a premier leading institute of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, India).

Dr. Dogra did her post-doctoral training in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She has earned her Ph.D in molecular biology from the Institute of Integrative Medicine, C.S.I.R., Jammu, India and second Masters Degree in Health Care Management from Touro University International, California, USA.

Dr. Dogra has authored over several scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals.

She has been in the Faculty Development Program of Medical Council of Canada as defined by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is a member of Association of Microbiologists of India, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation and American College of Healthcare Executives.

Dr. Jagmohan S. Sidhu, M.D. (Pathology)

Dr. Jagmohan S. Sidhu is director and chairman of department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, UHS Hospitals, Johnson City, New York, USA (an affiliate of SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, New York, USA) and Clinical Professor in Upstate Medical University (State University of New York-Clinical Campus at Binghamton, New York, USA). He is also director of Hematopathology/Flow Cytometry and Pathologist, UHS Hospitals, Johnson City, New York, USA. He was Clinical Associate Professor, Upstate Medical University (State University of New York - Clinical Campus at Binghamton, New York, USA) from 2001 to 2005 and Clinical Assistant Professor, Upstate Medical University (State University of New York - Clinical Campus at Binghamton, New York, USA) from 1995 to 2001. He was the director of Surgical Pathology and General Pathology, UHS Hospitals, Johnson City, New York, USA from 1996 to 2000. He has set up an automated Immunohistochemistry laboratory in 1996 and has been actively involved in organizing and directing various conferences, hematology/hematopathology symposia. He earned M.D. graduate degree from Punjabi University, Patiala, India in 1978 and post graduate degree in Pathology from the same University in 1984. He is holding medical licenses from New York, California, Texas and Nevada.

Dr. Sidhu has received the Executive Certificate Program in healthcare delivery management (sponsored by Cornell University & UCLA), American Board of Pathology (AP and CP) and American Board of Pathology (hematology). He has received special certification from New York State Department of Health as Certificate of Qualification (COQ) in Cellular Immunology, cytopathology, histopathology, hematology, immunohematology, bacteriology, mycobacteriology, mycology, parasitology, diagnostic immunology, clinical chemistry, drug analysis, endocrinology, therapeutic substance monitoring, blood lead, erythrocyte protoporphyrin, blood pH and gases, and andrology.

Dr. Sidhu was nominated for “The Doctors of Excellence” and “The Docs That Are Tops” by the United Health Services Staff. He has received commendation for “Excellent Leadership Skills, and Quality of Care” and “Business Acumen and Excellent Leadership Skills. He is also recognized as “Service Hero” and “Our Star” by the Chief Executive Officer of the United Medical Associates.

Dr. Jan Klesken, M.D. (Internal medicine)

Dr. Jan Klesken is medical professional with 25 years experience in various fast-paced hospitals, research and family practice settings. Dr. Klesken is a Forensic Medical Examiner in Emergency Medicine in Prince Philip’s Hospital Llanalli, FME, UK since 2006. He was Clinical Surgical Associate - post cardiovascular Surgery in St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He was actively involved in Healthy Heart Program to assess patients, new and follow up in Healthy heart and Lipid clinic.

In 1995, Dr. Klesken was General Internist, Consultant, Gastroendoscopist in General Hospital, Banska Bystrica, Slovakia and involved in research in cardiovascular diseases and intestinal disorders including Helicobacter Pylori infection.

In 1990 he was working as Internist and gastroendoscopist in Harare Central Hospital, Harare, Zimbabwe. In 1984 he was Internist involved in Trebisov Hospital, Trebisov, Slovakia. He was Physician in ST. Paul Boffa Hospital and St. Luke’s Hospital, Malta. He has also qualified Medical council of Canadian examination in 2003.

Dr. Devki Nandan, Ph.D. (Immunology)

Dr. Devki Nandan is a faculty member in the Department of Medicine at University of British Columbia. He is an established scientist in the field of molecular pathogenesis of intracellular infection.

His research is directed to understand strategies employed by disease causing microbes to survive, grow and establish infection in human hosts. He is using several modern technologies like RNA-seq, smart proteomics etc to achieve his goal of identifying selective drug targets.

Dr. Devki Nandan has vast experience in the field of translational research-an emerging field to translate research to clinical use. He has published a good number of research papers in international peer-reviewed journals. His genomics activities mainly involves about predisposition of diseases and preventive strategies.

Dr. Kuldip Rai Jassal, M.D. (Psychiatry)

Dr. Kuldip Rai Jassal is attending Psychiatrist in Campbellton Regional Hospital, Campbellton, New Brunswick and is involved in acute inpatient, chronic care, child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatrics, consultation-liaison, emergency, and forensic psychiatry since 2008. He was Geriatric Psychiatry Fellow at University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, NY (USA) in 2006. He has completed his Psychiatry Residency from University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada as well as from University of Buffalo, The State University of New York, USA. He is actively involved in acute inpatient, chronic care, comprehensive psychiatric emergency, child and adolescent psychiatry, geriatrics, consultation-liaison, psychotherapy, and ECT in New York, USA. He was Psychiatry Extern in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Washington, DC, USA and Research Assistant in Pilgrim Psychiatric Center, Brentwood, New York (USA) and Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Yeshiva Univ, Bronx, NY (USA) in 1999. He was Clinical Observer of Psychiatry in Mt. Pleasant Mental Health Team, Vancouver, BC, Canada in1997, Clinical Observer of Family Medicine in Melville Hospital, Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada, Clinical Observer in Emergency Medicine Central Newfoundland Regional Health Center, Grand Falls-Windsor.

He earned his M.D. graduate degree in Medicine and Surgery from Government Medical College, Amritsar, India.

Dr. Jassal is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc., a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties” since 2010. He holds unrestricted License in New Brunswick in Psychiatry and is Licentiate of Medical Council of Canada Examinations.

He is a member of Professional Liaison Committee, Regional Health Authority Zone 5, New Brunswick, Canada and Regional Health Authority Zone 5 Ethics Committee, New Brunswick, Canada. He has received “Certificate of Award” for outstanding medical services in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Washington, DC, USA. Dr. Jassal has been actively involved in research activities including “Genetic Variation of the Human-Mu-Opioid Receptor and Susceptibility to Schizophrenia”.

Dr. K.P. Singh, M.D. (Medicine) D.M. (Endocrinology) FICN

Dr. K.P. Singh is working as a Sr. Consultant Endocrinology in Fortis hospital, India for the last 8 years. Before joining this hospital, he was working as consultant specialist in Endocrinology department in P.G.I.M.E.R Chandigarh, India for 3 years. He also established the department of Endocrinology at S.V. Institute of Medical Sciences Tirupati Andhra Pradesh, India. He is recipient of WHO International Diabetes Center award from Minneapolis 2007 and National Builders award 2007. His biography has been included in the 2008 Marquis WHO’S WHO IN WORLD and Oxford International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, U.K. He has more than two decades of experience as an Endocrinologist and published 35 articles in peer reviewed journals. He has remarkable contributions that are the first land mark studies in the world. To name a few are: growth hormone therapy in burns, chronic fluoride toxicity in children and Metformin osteoporosis link. These studies have been highlighted in the Medline and also got good International media response in BBC and USA Today. He is a Member of American Diabetic Association (ADA), American Endocrine Society (AES), American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist (AACE) and American Society for Bone Mineral Research (ASBMR).

Dr. Devinder Mohan Thappa M.D. (Dermatology)

Dr. Devinder Mohan Thappa is currently Professor of Dermatology and STD department at JIPMER, Pondicherry. He did specialization in dermatology from PGIMER, Chandigarh. He has an immense experience in teaching undergraduates and postgraduate disciples at LHMC, New Delhi (1989-1992) before joining JIPMER, Pondicherry in 1994. He is a reputed academic dermatologist who has to his credit over 500 scientific publications in International and National specialty journals, especially in the field of Leprosy, STD, and AIDS. He has also authored three books and written four chapters in STD textbook and three chapters in IADVL Textbook of Dermatology. He was the editor of “Indian Journal of Pediatric Dermatology” (2004-2008) and at present working as Editor-in-Chief of “Indian Journal of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology” and “Indian Clinical Updates-Dermatology” from 2009. He has been awarded prestigious Ambady and Dr. Sardarilal Memorial Oration Award by Indian association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists in addition to WHO fellowship on STD and AIDS (USA). In 2013, he received Fellowship of National Academy of Medical Sciences Award in New Delhi".

Dr Srishti Raj, M.D. (Ophthalmology)

Dr Srishti Raj is working as Assistant Professor at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India which is a tertiary care government institute. He is working as clinical Glaucoma specialist for last 5 years. Main area of interest is glaucoma drainage devices and glaucoma lasers. Besides glaucoma, he is also looking after Pediatric ophthalmology. Apart from clinical work, he is also focusing on glaucoma screening and awareness programs for which a Glaucoma Support Group have been created. Dr Srishti is also conducting refresher courses and glaucoma Wet labs for Ophthalmologists as well as residents.

Apart from this, he is currently General Secretary of Chandigarh Ophthalmological society (COS), for last one year, which is affiliated to All India Ophthalmological society (AIOS). Under ages of COS, he is conducting monthly continuous medical education (CME's) programs and annual conferences. Dr. Srishti is actively involved in prevention and treatment strategies of eye diseases.
